In 2019, The Ó Súilleabháin Mór (GarraíEoin Brian Ó Súilleabháin MhicRaith) and his wife (Julie Anne) formed the Santa Lucia Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing health care for underserved women.
During its fledgling years, the foundation has concentrated on serving women of limited means in the southeast of the United States. Eventually, the vison of the foundation is to extend these services to women in Ireland as well.
In 2021, the Santa Lucia Foundation forged a partnership with Foundations Resource Center of Statesboro, Geogia, to provide initial obstetrical care and monitoring, as well counseling for crisis challenges associated with pregnancy and parenting, for woman who are confronted with an unplanned pregnancy. Alternatives to abortion are offered and discussed.
In 2022, the Santa Lucia Foundation appointed Jennifer Rileigh Sullivan as Director of the program. A campaign to solicit funds from corporations to finance the expansion of its services was initiated. The plan is to apply for government grants to accomplish its charitable mission as well.
The Clann Ó Súilleabháin Mhumhain organization (The O'Sullivan Clan of Munster) is a proud co-sponsor of the Santa Lucia Foundation.
